Cybersecurity services

Security controls a smaller organization can actually sustain

Most attacks on small and mid-sized businesses rely on stolen passwords, unpatched devices, convincing emails and missing backups. Our cybersecurity services focus on closing those gaps first, with clear scope and plain-language reporting.

How we approach security for smaller organizations

Large enterprises can afford dedicated security teams and layers of specialized tools. A 30-person firm cannot, and does not need to. What it needs is a short list of well-chosen controls that are switched on everywhere, maintained over time, and checked regularly. That is the core of our cybersecurity work.

We start by finding out what is actually in place, because assumptions are the weakest point in most small-business security. Is multifactor authentication enforced for every account, or only for those who opted in? Are former employees fully removed? Did last week's backup complete, and has anyone tried restoring from it? The answers set the priorities.

Cybersecurity services

  • Managed Cybersecurity

An ongoing program covering an agreed set of controls, alert review, account hygiene and regular security reporting.

  • Endpoint Security and EDR

Deployment, policy management and alert review for endpoint protection and endpoint detection and response on covered devices.

  • Microsoft Defender Management

Configuration and day-to-day management of Microsoft Defender across devices and Microsoft 365.

  • Identity Security and MFA

Multifactor authentication rollout, conditional access, administrator account separation and sign-in review.

  • Email Security

Filtering, anti-phishing and anti-spoofing configuration, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for your domain.

  • Backup and Disaster Recovery

Backup design, job monitoring and restore testing so recovery is demonstrated rather than assumed.

  • Assessments

Security and vulnerability assessments that document gaps and rank remediation by risk and effort.

  • Training and planning

Security awareness training for staff, ransomware preparedness, hardening and incident response planning.

Where we usually start

For most organizations these measures reduce the most risk for the least disruption.

  • Enforce multifactor authentication on every Microsoft 365 and remote access account
  • Separate administrator accounts from everyday user accounts
  • Deploy and centrally manage endpoint protection on every business device
  • Bring operating systems and key applications up to date and keep them there
  • Confirm backups exist for critical data and test a restore
  • Remove stale accounts and review who has access to sensitive files
  • Teach staff how to recognize and report suspicious messages

What our security services do not include

We do not provide a staffed security operations centre or round-the-clock monitoring, and we do not offer compliance certification. Alert review happens within the coverage hours in your scope. For regulatory questions, we work alongside your legal and compliance advisers rather than replacing them.

Frequently asked questions

We're a small business. Are we really a target?

Most attacks on small organizations are not targeted at all. Automated phishing and password-guessing campaigns hit every business with an email address. Basic controls such as multifactor authentication and endpoint protection stop a large share of these attempts.

Where should we begin if we have done nothing formal yet?

A Security Assessment or Microsoft 365 Security Assessment gives you a prioritized list of findings at a fixed proposed price. From there you can fix the gaps yourselves, ask us to, or move to an ongoing managed security plan.

Do you monitor our systems around the clock?

No. Alert review and response happen within the coverage hours agreed in your scope. If your organization needs extended coverage, it must be discussed and written into the proposal; it is never assumed.

Can you make us compliant with privacy regulations?

We help you run technology in a privacy-aware, documented way, which supports your compliance work. Whether you meet a specific legal obligation is a question for qualified legal or compliance advisers.
