What IT procurement means at Podium Catchers
IT procurement is the process of choosing, buying and preparing the technology your business runs on. We focus on the parts that most small and mid-sized organizations find hardest: knowing which specifications are right for each role, avoiding consumer-grade equipment that cannot be managed centrally, buying the correct Microsoft 365 licences, comparing quotations fairly, and making sure equipment is enrolled, configured and documented before it reaches a desk.
Our role is advisory and coordinating. We do not present ourselves as a reseller with special pricing, and we make no claims about discounts from manufacturers or distributors. Prices come from the supplier’s quotation, and you approve every purchase. Where we place an order on your behalf, the arrangement is agreed in writing first. What we add is the technical judgement and the follow-through, so purchases fit your standards and arrive ready to use.
Purchasing problems we help avoid
Consumer laptops in a business
Machines bought at a retail store come with home editions of Windows and bundled software, and cannot join company management without extra cost and effort.
Paying for the wrong licences
Mixed Microsoft 365 plans, unused seats and features you already pay for elsewhere quietly inflate monthly costs.
Equipment that sits in boxes
New devices arrive but nobody has time to set them up, so staff keep working on failing machines.
No record of what was bought
Serial numbers, warranty dates and invoices are scattered, which makes warranty claims and replacement planning difficult.
Procurement capabilities
Device standards
Recommended specifications for each role, such as office staff, designers, field workers and reception, so purchases are consistent.
Licence planning
Reviews of Microsoft 365 and other software subscriptions to match plans to actual needs before renewal.
Quote comparison
Side-by-side review of supplier quotations for specification, warranty, delivery time and total cost.
Order coordination
Liaison with your chosen supplier on order details, delivery addresses and tracking, under your approval.
Ready-to-use setup
Enrolment into device management, standard applications, user setup and data migration before handover.
Asset and warranty records
Serial numbers, purchase dates and warranty terms added to your inventory to support lifecycle planning.

Will new laptops be ready when staff get them?
Where setup is in scope, devices are enrolled, configured and loaded with standard applications before handover.
How is procurement help priced?
