Monitoring, not just software
Backup software sends failure notices, but in most small businesses those messages pile up unread until the day a file needs restoring. Backup Monitoring assigns a person to read them. Every business day we confirm that each protected device completed its job, investigate failures and warnings, and fix the common causes, such as full storage, expired credentials or a device that has not connected for a week.
Monitoring alone does not prove recovery, so the service also includes a sample restore each quarter from a rotating selection of protected devices. The monthly report shows success rates, open issues and the result of the most recent restore, giving you evidence you can show to your insurer, your accountant or your board.

What counts as a protected device
Servers
Each physical or virtual server with a backup job counts as one device.
Computers
Workstations or laptops with their own backup job each count as one device.
Minimum and fit
The proposed minimum is 5 protected devices. Very large virtual environments may need a custom quotation.
Configuration and pricing basis
Choose the number of protected devices. At the proposed CAD 10 per device per month, 8 servers and computers would be estimated at CAD 80 per month before tax. The price is a proposal pending business approval and is confirmed in a written quotation.
Backup Monitoring is included at the same per-device rate in the Advanced managed IT package. In the main pricing calculator, it is added when you indicate that backup oversight is required.
Onboarding
Device list
We confirm every device to be monitored and the expected schedule for each.
Console access
You grant operator access and route alerts to our help desk.
Baseline
We fix any failing jobs found at the start and record the starting position.
Routine
Daily checks, quarterly restores and monthly reporting begin.
Terms
Price and service terms are drafts pending business and legal approval and are shown in full before checkout. Monitoring improves the likelihood of recovery but cannot ensure every file is recoverable. Checks occur on business days only unless your quotation states otherwise. Taxes are calculated at checkout.
Frequently asked questions
Do you supply the backup software?
Not as part of this subscription. We monitor your existing platform or quote a separate deployment project.
How often do you test restores?
One sample restore per quarter from a rotating device. Additional tests can be quoted.
Are weekends checked?
Jobs that run at weekends are reviewed on the next business day. Weekend checks must be written into the quotation.
What if a backup keeps failing because storage is full?
We tell you, explain the options and costs, and adjust retention within the agreed policy while a decision is made.
Make backup oversight part of your plan
Add backup monitoring in the pricing calculator for a proposed estimate, then confirm devices in a written quotation.
